Celebrating Garry Olney
Nearly a decade of unwavering commitment and visionary leadership
Providence Little Company of Mary extends its heartfelt gratitude to Garry Olney for his remarkable nine years of service as he transitions to serve as the Northern California service area chief executive and chief executive of Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. As the chief executive for Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers San Pedro and Torrance, Garry displayed exemplary strategic leadership as well as a culture of caring to enhance the programs and services we offer throughout the South Bay. With a rich career that spans over 30 years and includes leadership positions at Tenet Healthcare and Ascension Health, Garry’s expertise has been invaluable to our organization.
Kurt Hinrichsen, chief philanthropy officer of Providence Little Company of Mary Foundation, remarked, “Garry’s dedication and vision have significantly impacted our beloved community. We are truly grateful for his unwavering commitment.” Echoing this sentiment, Kenya Beckmann, chief philanthropy and health equity officer, South Division, stated, “Garry’s leadership has left an indelible mark on Providence Little Company of Mary.”
As we bid farewell to Garry and wish him success in his new role, we warmly welcome Michael Ricks. Michael, with his robust experience from Providence Saint John’s Health Center and previous leadership at Hoag Hospital, will serve as the chief executive of the Los Angeles coastal service area (which includes Providence Saint John’s Health Center and
Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers San Pedro and Torrance). This strategic alignment under Michael’s leadership promises continued excellence and a seamless transition ensuring our patients and community members continue to receive the best care.
We remain ever thankful for Garry’s contributions and wish him continued success. We are confident that with his leadership, Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and the entire Northern California service area will thrive. Thank you, Garry, for your years of service and dedication.
