Continuing a Legacy of Service
Introducing our new board chair
Chris W. Caras, Jr. has long believed in the importance of giving back to the community that has meant so much to his family. Now, in his new role as chair of the Providence Little Company of Mary Foundation board, he is stepping into a role that continues a legacy of service spanning generations.
Chris first became connected to Providence Little Company of Mary through his family. His father served as a trustee during the early years of the medical center, helping to guide the institution through periods of growth and transformation. Today, Chris is proud to carry this legacy forward.
His commitment to the medical center is also personal. When Chris’s son required care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), he and his wife, Jennifer, experienced firsthand the compassion and expertise of the caregivers who serve the South Bay community every day. “Seeing the quality, compassionate care that my son received in the NICU inspired me to want to give back and help others,” he says. “My family and I have made gifts to the NICU to ensure top level care is available to every baby.”
Chris brings decades of professional and volunteer leadership experience to his role as board chair. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, he has worked in the commercial real estate industry since 1996 and is currently senior vice president at CBRE, specializing in investment sales and lease negotiations. In addition to brokerage, he is active in real estate development, property management and investments.
Motivated by gratitude and a strong sense of community responsibility, Chris sees his leadership role as an opportunity to support the caregivers who make Providence Little Company of Mary such a vital resource for the South Bay.
For Chris, serving as board chair is another opportunity to give back to the medical center that has meant so much to his family.
