Kent Shoji, M.D., named
2026 Philanthropy Physician Champion
Providence Little Company of Mary is proud to recognize Kent Shoji, M.D., founder of Emergency Specialist Physicians Medical Associates, as the 2026 Providence South Division Philanthropy Physician Champion. A respected leader in emergency medicine, Dr. Shoji has devoted decades of service to advancing patient care, strengthening the ministry and fostering a culture of philanthropy across our medical centers.
Dr. Shoji is a champion of the Foundation’s mission, supporting initiatives that enhance care and expand access for the community. He and his wife Ginny have made significant personal philanthropic contributions and Dr. Shoji serves as a valued member of the Foundation board. Equally impactful is the support of Emergency Specialist Physicians Medical Associates, the group he founded, which has generously funded ministry activities and projects — including a recent pledge in support of the Torrance emergency department initiative.
An internationally recognized emergency physician, Dr. Shoji is board certified in internal medicine, rheumatology and emergency medicine and has practiced emergency medicine for 50 years. His tenure includes 42 years at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance and six years at San Pedro.
Through his extraordinary clinical career, philanthropic leadership and unwavering advocacy for the Foundation, Dr. Shoji exemplifies what it means to be a Physician Champion — leaving a lasting legacy of service and excellence at Providence Little Company of Mary.
