Proud to be the Best

Providence Little Company of Mary maternity services during life’s most sacred moments

At Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers, we recognize that giving birth is a significant life milestone filled with hope and new possibilities. We believe moms, dads and families deserve world-class, family-centered care in a
peaceful, healing environment. With the support of our generous donor community, Providence Little Company of Mary has become the gold standard for childbirth services in the South Bay.

Our commitment to excellence has led to the medical center being recognized as one of America’s Best Maternity
Hospitals by U.S. News and World Report for
four consecutive years. Our community agrees —
in 2023, the medical center welcomed 2,664 newborns into the world, averaging over 200 births per month. Behind these numbers lies a dedicated team of experts, including boardcertified OB-GYNs, doulas, laborists, nurses, 24/7 on-site neonatology and OB physician support, pediatricians, midwives, and an OB navigator providing guidance and support.

When needed, our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) plays a pivotal role in caring for our tiniest and most fragile patients. For one in 10 deliveries at the medical center, the NICU provides specialized care for premature infants and those with complex medical needs. Supported by a team of pediatric subspecialists in surgery, cardiology and gastroenterology, the NICU ensures that every child receives outstanding care.

Families are welcomed into completely private, quiet rooms for their newborns in which to nurse and care for the newest member of their family. The private single family NICU rooms with low lighting and state-of-the -art lifesaving equipment set the stage for a calming experience for each baby during their
stay. There are many monitors in place to ensure the safest, most high-quality care for our most vulnerable patients. When parents return home after visiting their infant, it is extremely comforting to be able to watch over their child from home through
special cameras installed on the cribs and to share photos and videos of their baby with family members who may be across the country.

You made a difference
Philanthropy has been instrumental. The $5 million Women and Children’s Campaign, led by Linda Wenglikowski and Betsy Miller, has helped bring about transformative changes. From renovated labor and delivery suites to leading-edge technologies like Bluetooth-enabled fetal monitoring systems —which allow for labor to progress more naturally, reduce the instance of C-sections, and lead to best outcomes for
mother and baby — and upgraded infant security measures, every gift has made a tangible difference in the lives of patients
and their families.

“We are profoundly grateful to our donors for their commitment to the well-being of our moms and families,” says Kurt Hinrichsen, chief philanthropy officer, Providence Little Company of Mary Foundation. “Your giving has enabled us to acquire
advanced technologies, improve the patient experience and uphold our standing as the best place to give birth.
